Ridges on your nails can be caused by picking or pushing at the base of the cuticle. Also chronic disease, ageing and taking certain medications, such as chemotherapeutic agents used to treat cancer, over a long period of time can cause ridges. Genetics also play a role, so no matter how well you treat your nails, they’ll always be a little uneven.
If you want to get rid of ridges on your nails you can gently buff them smooth. However be careful that you only buff the raised up ridges and not the surface between them or you will really damaged your nails. Once you’re done, wipe away the dust. Finish off by applying one coat of ridge filler to your nails
