Will Drinking Eight Glasses of Water a Day Keep my Skin Moist?

Here is a common beauty myth… will drinking eight glasses of water a day keep your skin moist. This is not necessarily true. This beauty myth has been drummed into our heads for so long that it is hard not to believe. But the reality is, drinking plenty of water certainly keeps the body, including the skin, hydrated, but the outermost (oldest) layer of the skin is made of dead skin cells, which doesn’t absorb water from within the body. Therefore the moisture level of skin is affected mainly by external factors, such as cold, wind, dry heat, and also by the number of sebaceous, or oil-producing, glands you have. This does not mean you should stop drinking water as it is still important to keep your skin underneath hydrated as well as your entire body. glass of water
